After two years of re-branding, The Hundred House Hotel Cornwall & Fish In The Fountain Restaurant has been awarded its third black star from the AA and its first Rosette for cooking.

Richard and Denise Maior-Barron who purchased the hotel in February 2005 set stiff goals to bring the ailing hotel into the new millennium and put it on the map.

Ok, I know this is a blog telling you about all the wonderful places to stay in Cornwall, but we had to mention a recent find, and to be honest it isn’t far from Cornwall! Located in South Hams in Devon (near Cornwall!), is a converted barn offering luxury holiday accommodation, there are a couple of ‘gems’ that make this place one of those magical finds, the first is the luxury accommodation hidden away near the Yealm valley, the second is the private fishing lake just yards from the front door which was reputed to be stock with fish over 35 years ago.
